Lauren Danella

Certified Nurse Midwife

Lauren’s love for children is her inspiration as a midwife. She wants all children to feel safe and loved from the very beginning. In 2001, she was a founding member of a holistic orphanage, yoga and meditation center, where neglected and abused children healed from their traumatic beginnings. She often wondered if it was possible to prevent the trauma instead of helping to heal it. Once she discovered gentle midwifery care and learned of the bonding and loving attachment that occurs in the first hour of life, she became an advocate for natural childbirth in its simplest form.

Lauren is a Certified Nurse Midwife and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner with a dual Master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania.  She has worked as a Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse, and as a Pediatric Nurse for orphaned children with complicated medical conditions. She studied the art of natural childbirth with the midwives of Bali, Indonesia with whom she lived and worked with for over a year. She also mentored with P Fadwah Halaby at Midwife360, who she greatly admires, for about two years.  Lauren connects deeply with the women she cares for and is dedicated to bringing gentle midwifery care to the families of South Florida.
